David Shrigley

If you know me you've probably seen the above t-shirt and wondered what the hell it's about. It's a print from this guy. I love David Shrigley. He's misanthropic, cynical, ridiculous and very very funny. His ability to twist a simple situation or item into something with a story seems incredibly smart and intuitive to me. I also love the deliberately craptucalar drawing style. Oddly, Shrigley turns up in some strange places too. Jason Mraz is a fan and named his album "We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things." after he saw the phrase in one of shrigley's drawings. The band Let's Wrestle are named after one of his books, he's worked on videos for Blur, made an abum with David Byrne (of Talking Heads) and Grizzly Bear amongst others. And contributes spoken-word pieces to the Late Night Tales compilation albums. He also makes sculptures and animates. Fucking productive bastard.
